What inspired you to create Esmerelda?

Esmerelda began with one simple belief: pleasure is a natural part of wellbeing, and it should feel easy to explore.

Like so many people, I grew up with very little education around pleasure. There were plenty of messages about what we shouldn’t do, but almost no conversations about understanding our bodies, discovering what feels good, or giving ourselves permission to explore without shame.

I created Esmerelda to make that journey feel a little softer, a little simpler, and a lot more welcoming.

Why is this mission personal to you?

Because I’ve been there.

I’ve questioned my body. I’ve wondered if something was wrong with me. I’ve experienced the uncertainty, the awkwardness, and the feeling that everyone else seemed to know something I didn’t.

Learning about pleasure taught me that there isn’t one “right” way to experience pleasure — only your way.

What do you hope people feel when they discover Esmerelda?

Like they’ve found a safe place.
